This is a nice issue of Life Magazine dated October 3, 1969. The feature stories are titled "The Grace Of Ballet" and "The Tumult Of Hendrix." Tumult according to Webster is defined as: with uproar and confusion of voices, commotion, violent agitation of mind or feelings - all of which could define Jimi Hendrix and his music.Long before Ralph Nader was running for president as a Green Party candidate, he was fighting Washington as a consumer advocate. In the article titled "Nader's Raiders: The Lone Ranger Gets A Posse," you"ll see a very young-looking Nader and read about his battles in Washington. The interview with Premier Gold Meir titled "We won our wars - we don"t need victories" is very interesting. See a photo of Dave Costa of the Denver Broncos clobbering Joe Namath in a Denver 21-19 upset victory. Hendrix fans will enjoy the psychedelic pictures of Jimi taken by Raymundo de Larrain! Groovy Baby! In "An American Masterpiece," the camera of Gjon Mili captures the lyrical mood of Jerome Robbins" great ballet, "Dances at a Gathering." "The Revival Of Ted Kennedy" discusses the Senator and shows a picture of Kennedy as he attended the funeral of Mary Jo Kopechne in Larksville, Pennsylvania. Check out the vintage advertisements for the "70 Mercury Cyclone GT, American Motors" Hornet (purchase prices $1,994 to $3,589), 1970 Ford Thunderbird, AT&T, & Westclox. The magazine is in good overall condition. There is some wear to the outer edges of the magazine cover. The interior pages are clean - no writing or dog-ears. The pages have turned dark along the edges from age, but are not brittle. The corners on some of the pages to the front of the magazine are slightly dinged.
