This issue of Life Magazine dated September 10, 1971 features the first 25 years of television. Interestingly enough, the cover asks "Are we happy with what we're watching." That question could still be asked today! The other articles discussing television include: TV's Impact on Society; Do We Like What We Watch?; How a Network Boss Picks Shows; Notes in a Viewer's Album; Our First TV Star. Don't miss the vintage pictures of Marshall Dillon of Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith and Barney, Marcus Welby M.D., My Three Sons, Father Knows Best, and more. The article "Election Time In Saigon" tells of a difficult times - not unlike those in Iraq today. In the article "Margaret Bourke-White", you will see her award winning photographs on two pages. Among them, Gandhi and Jewish prisoners at Buchenwald in 1945. Vintage advertisements include Marlboro Cigarettes (Marlboro Man with his horse), Sherwin-Williams Pain, Emerson Prismacolor Television, Sony Invisible Speaker Stereo Radio, and more. The magazine is in good condition - inside and out. The outer cover has some bends on the lower right corner and there is a smudge on the right hand side. The interior pages are clean with no writing. Page 26 has a two-inch tear on the outside edge of the page. Someone has cut a picture of Cher out of page 48, however, it does not remove any text from the previous page.
