This is a nice little book with a copyright of 1951, however, this is a 1952 printing that has been revised and enlarged. The work "parakeet" is spelled with two "r's" throughout the book, so I have used the word exactly as it is in the book.The book is 40 pages of everything you need to know to train and take care of your parrakeet. Some of the chapters are The Budgie as a Pet, Teaching To Talk, Nest Boxes, Bathing and more. There are several vintage pictures at the beginning of the book that feature one or more parrakeets that are neat! Overall, the book is in good condition, though the cover has darkened with age and shows some wear. The interior pages are in very good condition - clean, no writing or dog-ears. The interior has the musty smell of a book that has been stored for 50 years, however, I will be leaving it open in hopes that will diminish. Note the pages are not as dark as shown in the photos. My camera tends to darken vintage paper. This might make a fun book for someone who had a parrakeet as a kid or even a good instruction book for a present day pet parrakeet.
