This is a cookbook of wonderful-sounding recipes! This is Pillsbury's 3rd Grand National $100,000 Recipe and Baking Contest Cookbook. This is a First Edition with a copyright of 1952.All of the recipes in this cookbook were prize-winning entries! Some of the recipes include: Chili Cheese Surprise, Layer Cream Temptation, Apple Dapple Pudding, Orange Sparkle Cake, Cinnamon Crunch Coffee Cake, Happy Day Orange Pie, Baked-In Beefburgers, Shanghai Casserole, and many more. The cake on the front cover was the first prize winner. The cake is called Starlight Double-Delight Cake and is the first recipe in the cookbook. You'll see photos of Arthur Godfrey and Art Linkletter with a couple of the winners in the is contest. The outer soft cover has come loose from the cookbook itself - in fact the crease on the binding edge is torn almost the full length of the book. The edges have some minor wear and the lower front cover has a place where the surface has been damaged. The back cover has some surface on the edges and along the binding edge. The interior pages are in good condition. A few of the pages do have light stains on them - to be expected for a cookbook this age with great recipes. In spite of the damage mentioned, this is still a great vintage cookbook. A little tape and mending and this book has years of cooking fun ahead of it!
