This item is an April 1979 Saturday Evening Post in "near mint" condition. The front cover features father and daughter, Pat and Debby Boone.
This issue has many interesting articles in it - many are about the Christian Revival. A few of the articles that support this feature topic include: Donna Fargo - It Takes All You Have to Fight It; How Sweet It Is - B. J. Thomas; Pat and Debby Boone - Sharing the Limelight, Spreading the Word; How to Buy a Gutenberg Bible, and more. In "The Gospel Boon," you'll see pictures of a very young Jim Bakes and his PTL Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The article by G. E. Synhorst titled "Jim Jones: Christian or Communist?" gives a chilling account of how Jim Jones leadership lead to the deaths of hundreds.
Ingrid Bergman fans will enjoy the article "Ingrid Bergman: Super Star in Spite of Herself." It includes many pictures of the Bergman - one with her Oscar she won in 1944 - five years after coming to the U.S.
"I Break Into The Big Time" is an autobiography by Norman Rockwell, as told to his son, Thomas Rockwell. It includes some pictures of Rockwell himself modeling for a painting. He even included the use of neighborhood boys to get the poses just right.
Basketball fans will enjoy the article "Kent Benson: Front and Center." Kent Benson was the ace pivot man for the Milwaukee Bucks.
As stated, this magazine is in mint condition. The only damage is a bent lower corner on the back cover. The interior pages are "like new" clean - no writing or dog-ears. The edges of the interior have turned just slightly darker with age.
This magazine is gift quality and would make a great birthday present for someone born in April 1979!
