for item Misc338
If you are a Bing Crosby fan, then you will really enjoy this issue of Song Hits dated June 1937. The cover features Bing Crosby with two lovelies sitting on his lap - a scene from his move Waikiki Wedding. This issue includes the words to songs from the movies - Sweet Is the Word For You, Okolehao, In A little Hula Heaven, and Blue Hawaii (the same one Elvis Presley made famous in his movie by the same title).
Cartoon lovers will enjoy the lyrics in this issue from the cartoons featuring Popeye and Betty Boop.
Remember Martha Raye and Bob Bazooka Burns? There is an article and some very interesting pictures of both.
Song Hits Previews shows two pages of small pictures from the movie "The King and the Chorus Girl" starring Fernand Gravet, Joan Blondell and Edward Everett Horton. Underneath each picture is a short synopsis of the scene. In another section of the magazine, the same is done for the movie "A Day At the Races" starring the Marks Brothers (I always thought it was Marx).
Some of the song lyrics included in this issue: You Gambled With Love; Paradise In Waltz Time; The Day You Came Along; I Want A Cowboy For A Sweetheart (Betty Boop Song); The Hills Of Old Wyomin'; Love Is Just Around The Corner; Miss Brown To You; Keep Your Fingers Crossed; and many more.
Don't miss the back cover advertisement for the Remington Noiseless Portable Typewriter!
The magazine is in very good condition considering its age. The outer cover has wear on the edges and a small piece missing from the lower front corner. The interior pages have darkened with age, but are in very good condition - no writing or dog-ears. The magazine has 34 pages.
