The Doll Book - Crocheted Doll Clothes in Cotton & Wool

The condition of this crochet booklet is not the best, but because it is so unusual and rare, I did not have the heart to throw it away. I'm sure there is someone who can still appreciate its theme and unique doll clothes patterns.

The title of the booklet is "The Doll Book - Crocheted Doll Clothes in Cotton & Wool." It was distributed by J. & P. Coats, Clark's O.N.T., & Chadwick's Red Heart. The copyright is 1951 by The Spool Cotton Company in New York.

I have fond memories of the crocheted doll clothes my Grandmother used to make for me when I was a child. Perhaps it is this sentimentality that influenced my decision to list this booklet despite the damage.

As you can see from the photos, the book has not received the best of care during its life time. The front and back covers have been torn loose from the the rest of the booklet. The covers and all pages have creases on them and bends on the corners. There are a few small stains on some of the pages. The booklet had been stored for many years and has a slight musty smell - but it is not unpleasant! There are eleven pages of pictures and instructions.

This booklet has some really nice doll clothes patterns that will take you back to your childhood just looking at the pictures!
