The cover of this book says "A Random House book for young people", but if you are a baseball fan of any age, this is the "must have" book on baseball. It is full of vintage pictures of some of the most famous baseball names since the game began.
The story of baseball is packed with unforgettable moments, colorful personalities, explosive rivalries and feuds, tense pennant races and World Series. In this lively book, generously illustrated with photographs, John Rosenburg recalls the prominent highlights of this exciting game, tracing the gradual growth and development of major league baseball through the past hundred years (as of 1962).
The pictures included with this listing is just a sampling of the wonderful nostalgia that you will see in this rather large book.
The outer hard cover does have wear - especially on the lower binding edge. The lower right corner has been dinged. The upper binding edge shows some wear, as well. The book has a laminated cover over it which has split on the left side where the cover bends back. There is a name written on the inside front cover. That's all the bad news!
The good news is the interior is like new - no writing or dog-ears. The pages look like this book just came from the book store even though it is 41 years old!
The book is approximately 8 1/4" wide, 11 1/4" tall and almost an inch thick. It has 176 pages which includes the index pages.
