Union Pacific Railroad/Fairchild Engine & Airplane Corp
for item Ad7
This advertising duo comes from a March 1944 National Geographic Magazine.
The first side is an advertisement for Union Pacific Railroad. It discusses the important job the railroad was doing in transporting troops and war materials and how that had added to the dispatcher's responsibilities - a man with a "thousand track" mind. The advertisement also adds a note to "Help the war effort by not dealing with black markets nor paying over-ceiling prices."
The reverse side is an advertisement for Fairchild Engine & Airplane Corporation Ranger Aircraft Engines Division. It discusses the range of aircraft and states, "Today, the skies over targets deep inside the perimeter of Japan's island defenses know the roar of our Navy's fighters, dive bombers and torpedo planes."
This ad, like all during the war, if very much in support of our armed forces and the war effort and ask that you buy U.S. War Bonds & Stamps.
The page measures 6 7/8" x 10". It is in very good condition and ready for matting and framing - no rips or tears other than the binding edge where the page was removed from the binding staples. The page could also be laminated so both sides can be enjoyed.
