This is a vintage book titled "What Baptists Believe and Why They Believe It" by J. G. Bow, D. D. It was published by The Sunday School Board in Nashville, Tennessee, of the Southern Baptist Convention.
There is no copyright date, however, during my Internet research, information by The Historical Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention indicates that this book was published from about the turn of the century until 1925. I also found that J. G. Bow, a Georgetown College Student, was elected as the first pastor of the newly founded Midway Baptist Church of Midway, Kentucky. The church was founded on June 27, 1872, with 25 charter members.
I was most surprised during my research to find there are scores of instances where passages from this book are quoted. This leads me to believe that it has noteworthy importance in the Baptist doctrine!
I am including a brochure titled "Baptists and Religious Freedom." It has a 1986 copyright.
The book is small, measuring 4 5/8x7 1/2" in size and has 48 pages. The book is in good condition – inside and out. There is minor wear to the edges and the surface. The back outside lower corner to the cover and several pages have a small bend on the corner. The interior pages are very clean with no writing!
