This book is a rare find! It is a 1946 First Edition of "Hiroshima" by John Hersey. This is a Borzoi Book published by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc.
It is the story of six human beings who survived the explosion of the atom bomb over Hiroshima. The New Yorker magazine devoted its entire August 31, 1946 issue to this story. The back paper cover has pictures of these six individuals. It is a very moving story!
As you can see from the photos, the outer paper cover has much wear, tears and pieces missing. It has done its job well as the hard back cover is in very good condition. The interior pages are clean – no writing or dog-ears. The book measures 5 1/4x8" in size and has 118 pages.
