The ABC of Canapes - By Edna Beilenson

This is a very nice little cookbook by Edna Beilenson titled "The ABC Of Canapes." Peter Pauper Press of Mount Vernon, New York, published the cookbook that has a copyright date of 1953. The book’s decorations are by Ruth McCrea.

This cookbook illustrates that canapes can be made from just about anything. Some of the recipes include:

1. Rolled Pancake, Caviar

2. Pate De Foie Gras

3. Jenny’s Mock Caviar

4. Garlic, Cream Cheese and Anchovies

5. Crab Au Gratin

6. Scrambled Eggs Bonne Bouche

7. Salami Cornucopias

8. And many more

This book is in excellent condition – inside and out. The outer paper cover and copyright date are the only hints at its actual age. The paper cover has some small tears on the edges and some wear. The hardback cover looks brand new. The interior pages are extremely clean – no writing or dog-ears. The last three or four pages do have a small, light stain on them but are in blank areas of the pages and do not take away from the overall appearance. The book measure 7 1/2x4 1/2" in size and has 62 pages.
