If you enjoy cooking fancy foods, then this is the cookbook for you. The cookbook is titled "The New James Beard" by famed James A. Beard. Alfred A. Knoph of New York published the book. It is a First Edition with a 1981 copyright! The nice drawings in the book are by Karl Stuecklen.
James Beard (1903-1985) wrote many books on cooking during his career. He was the first to publish a major cookbook exclusively dedicated to cocktail food. The book was Hors d’Oeuvres & Canapes that was published in 1940.
Mr. Beard became known as "The Father of American Gastronomy" and his name remains synonymous with American food.

Someone took very good care of this book! The outer paper cover has some wear tot he edges .There is some very minor wear to the hardback cover on the edges and corners. The lower edge of the front cover is sun-faded where the jacket did now cover the lower portion of the book. The interior pages are"like new" and extremely clean – no writing or dog-ears. This is a very large book with 626 pages including the indexes.
