Mile-A-Meter - Hardy's Enco, N. E. 28th, Fort Worth, TX
for item Misc287
This little handy devise is called a Mile-A-Meter. It was a complimentary item given to customers by Hardy’s Enco on N. E. 28th Street in Fort Worth, Texas. This is back in the days when the local gas station did it all – inspections, engine tune up, brake jobs and you could even get your car washed. Hardy’s sweetened the deal by giving Green Stamps.
This card has a laminated surface. The center wheel shows the amount of gasoline used. It is then turned to the number of miles you have driven and it will calculate the miles per gallon.
I do not know the age of this item, but I am guessing it is from the early 60’s since there is no zip code listed with the address.
The item is in fair-to-good condition. There is some wear to the outer numbers on the left side of the card. The right side has some stains as seen in the photo. Still a nice piece of Fort Worth memorabilia!
