This is a graphic novel titled "King." Graphic Novels are the latest way for publishers to illustrate their books. This is Volume 1 with a 1993 copyright. The book was written and illustrated by Ho Che Anderson. From the back cover: "King is the story of the man who was at the forefront of changing the face of American Society. Ho Che Anderson's interpretive biography of the Reverend Martin Luther King documents the life of the most compelling civil rights leader during the most violent and tumultuous period of struggle for basic, individual rights in 20th Century America. Volume 1 follows Martin Luther King from his childhood to his courting of Coretta Scott to his firm belief in the moral imperative of desegregation and racial equality. This graphic biography, told entirely in comics, is an uncompromising and honest work of historical recreation, bringing Martin Luther King and the early Civil Rights Movement to vivid, relevant life." The book is in good condition - inside and out. The upper right front corner has several scratches that can be seen when the book is moved in the light. It looks like a sticker was scraped off causing the cover scratches. There is also one small spot where the cover has been damaged. The upper right corner of the cover has some wear. The interior is "like new" clean - no writing or dog-ears. Please include $2.75 for shipping in the U.S. Add an additional $1.35 if you would like the shipment insured.
