for item Ad145
This is an advertisement from August, 1944, for Bell Telephone System. The picture shows a group of U. S. Marines on Bougainville stringing communication lines using palm trees as telephone poles. Two other soldiers stand guard. A clear sign that this ad was run during the war.
The reverse side features advertising for Girls’ Schools, Special Schools, and Military Schools. Some of the ads include Tennessee Military Institute, Valley Forge Military Academy, Greenbrier College, Mary A. Burnham School, Penn Hall Jr. College, Salem Academy, Sargent College, and many more.
The page measures 6 7/8" x 10". It is in good condition and ready for matting and framing - no rips or tears other than the binding edge where the page was removed from the binding staples. The page could also be laminated so both sides can be enjoyed.
