This is an interesting cookbook by Richard Wormser. It is titled "Southwest Cookery, or, At Home On The Range." The title continues, "The savory, colorful cooking of the Southwest presented for the first time with verve and wit by a talented chronicler of the area." The nice illustrations are by Pat Ronson Stewart. Doubleday & Company, Inc. of Garden City, New York, published the book that has a copyright of 1969. This book is a First Edition.
Some of the recipes include:
* Coliflor Fria (Cold Cauliflower)
* Cebollas Rellenas (Stuffed Onions)
* Albondigas Mexicanas (Mexican Meatballs)
* Guacamole
* Sopa Seca De Tortillas (Dry Tortilla Soup)
* Pepitoria Montesa (Mountain Chicken Stew)
* Natillas (Boiled Custard)
* Pudin De Nogales (Walnut Pudding)
* And many more
Overall, the book is in very good condition – inside and out. The outer dust jacket has some wear to the edges and corners with a few chips on the binding edges. The hardback cover is in very good condition. There is some light wear to the binding ends. The interior pages are very clean. I found one page with a dog-ear. There is no writing in the book. Also, there is one place in the book were the binding has been broken. (See photo) Despite this, the book is still held together very well!
This book was a gift and has a card taped to the first blank inside page. Someone attempted to remove the card. When they did, the tape pulled up the surface of the page – so the card remains – taped on end. The card is dated Christmas 1969.
