This is a beautiful vintage book titled "The How and Why of Chinese Painting" by Diana Kan. This is from the Art-in-Practice Series. Van Nostrand Reinhold Company published the book that has a copyright of 1974. The lovely photographs are by Sing-Si Schwartz.
A nice addition to the book is the last several pages. These show illustrations on how to write many words in Chinese.

The book is in excellent condition – inside and out. The outer dust jacket has some minor wear to the edges and corners. The back dust jacket has a 1/4" tear on the upper edge. The hardback cover is in "like new" condition. The interior pages are extremely clean – no writing or dog-ears. The book has 176 pages. The book measures 8 3/4"x11" in size.
