This is a beautiful vintage book titled "The How and Why of Chinese Painting" by Diana Kan. This is from the Art-in-Practice Series. Van Nostrand Reinhold Company published the book that has a copyright of 1974. The lovely photographs are by Sing-Si Schwartz.

A nice addition to the book is the last several pages. These show illustrations on how to write many words in Chinese.

The hardback cover is in "like new" condition. The interior pages are extremely clean – no writing or dog-ears. The book has 176 pages. The book measures 8 3/4"x11" in size.
