How To Be A Nonconformist by Elissa Jane Karg
for item Book131
This is a book that might be appreciated by a baby-boomer trying to be a nonconformist in the 1960’s or early 1970’s. The book is titled “How To Be A Non Conformist” by Elissa Jane Karg. The dedication is on a page of black ink paisley design and states, “For my mother who brow me.”
The book was published by Silvermine Publishers, Inc. in Connecticut with a copyright of 1967. This is a first printing dated December 1968.
The book is filled with abstract humor with some great illustrations. There is no acknowledgment for the illustrations, so I am assuming that Elissa Jane Karg did the illustrations also.
One of the more interesting pages shows an apartment room with the quote, “Status is having the biggest cockroaches in your village flat.”
The soft cover book is in good condition – inside and out. The interior pages are very clean – no writing or dog-ears. Both the cover and interior pages have darkened with age, but are not brittle. The book measures 5 1/4"x7 3/4” in size.
