This is a very nice vintage book about working with wood. The title is “How To Work With Tools And Wood” by Stanley Tools – A division of The Stanley Works in New Britain, Connecticut. The copyright is 1942.
The book covers all the tools needed for working with wood and how to use them. As you might guess, many of the tools have been replaced by modern electric tools. This book will definitely be nostalgic for anyone that has worked wood for several decades.
The chapters in the book includes instructions on some projects, how to make a working drawing, how to put joints together, fancy touches and more.
The hardback book is in excellent condition – inside and out. There is some light wear to the binding edges. The interior pages are extremely clean with no writing. There are a couple of pages that have dog-ears. The first inside blank pages have a name stamped on them – no doubt a previous owner. The book has 188 pages including the index pages.
