This is a very nice cookbook titled The Ford Treasury of Favorite Recipes from Famous Eating Places. The book was compiled by Nancy Kennedy. The Art Director was Arthur Lougee. The book has a copyright of 1950.
This little cookbook is a real collectible for someone that enjoys cooking and eating out at some of the best restaurants across the U.S. Each page gives the name and location of a famous eatery and one of the recipes from that restaurant. The illustrations on each page are very interesting, as well.
Some of the recipes and locations include:
* Spanish Salad Dressing Delmonico Restaurant Key West, Florida
* Ozark Bakeless Pudding Hotel Taneycomo Rockaway Beach, Missouri
* Marinated Fresh Shrimp Nelson House Poughkeepsie, New York
* Macs Pancakes Tapoco Lodge Tapaco, North Carolina
* Beefsteak and Kidney Pie Fox and Hounds Inn Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
* Boston Brown Bread Williams Inn Williamstown, Massachusetts
* Crabmeat Monza Cliff House San Francisco, California
* Hawaiian Chicken The Willows Honolulu, Hawaii
* Sweet Potato Souffle Brookwood Farms Columbia, Tennessee
* And many more
The cookbook is in very good condition. The outer cover is in good condition with some wear to the corners and binding edges. The interior pages are tightly bound together, but are pulling away from the hard cover binding. The interior pages are very clean with no writing. Two pages in the book have dog-ears, but have been straightened and lay flat. There is a small stain at the bottom of the index pages. There are 152 pages including the index pages. The book measures approximately 7 1/4x5 in size.
