Ohl, L.Frits, Netherlands Carrying Rice Oil Painting

OHL, Lucien Frits, Netherlands 1904-1976 (listed artist). Born in Sumatra, Indonesia, Ohl is known for his idyllic grandeur of the Indonesian landscapes. Mr. Ohl was also a history professor, and studied art while at university in Paris.

Indo-European original oil painting on canvas in the beautiful mooie indies style, depicting partial view of the gorgeous flowering Flamboyant tree (Royal Poinciana) and a female worker with a basket on her head. Framed in solid oak wood.

Measurement: Painting - 36" x 24" (92 cm x 61 cm); Frame - 41.5" x 29.5" (105.5 cm x 75 cm)

Both frame and painting are in excellent, well-cared for condition, with no visible damage to either.

Obtained in 2004 from the estate of an elderly woman in British Columbia, Canada, who was a very well-travelled individual. She loved art which she often purchased in various countries during her lifetime.
