THIS JESUS OF THE EMERALD BOOK WAS WRITTEN BY Gene Stratton Porter as a narrative poem based upon the "Lentulus Legend". The legend states that an envoy of Tiberius Caesar, Publius Lentulus was sent by the Emperor to investigate the miracles of Jesus. After his report, Caesar sent a master artist to produce a likeness of Christ and, according to the legend, had this likeness carved upon the face of an EMERALD.

HERE IS THE FIRST EDITION OF THE WHITE FLAG, written by Gene Stratton Porter. When told by her publisher that fiction would sell better than Nature Books, she did write some fiction, usually incorporating Nature in them.
