This autographed AFTER THE FLOOD by Gene Stratton Porter is volume eight of a twelve volume set, THE HOOSIER SET, a special limited edition printed by Bobbs-Merrill in 1911 for the Indiana Society of Chicago with distribution apparently limited to members of the Society and Friends. The Title Page is signed with Gene Stratton Porter's AUTOGRAPH, and is one of set #16. I have been told that there were 100 sets, but it does not actually say that in the book.

THESE TWO BOOKS ARE WRITINGS ABOUT THE SPIRITUAL WORLD AS DESCRIBED IN THE WRITINGS of Emanual Swedenborg. The larger one is by J. Howard Spalding and was published in 1916. It was sold by the Swedenborgian Bookstore in Boston Mass. SIZE is 90+ pages and 4" X 7". CONDITION is Good, but there is a 2" tear at the bottom back edge of cover. The smaller booklet is "Emerson on Swedenborg" Written by Ralph Waldo Emerson, it is not dated, but I suspect it is from the same ...click for details

THIS ANATIQUE ORIGINAL BOXED AND AUTOGRAPHED COPY OF JESUS OF THE EMERALD BOOK WAS WRITTEN BY Gene Stratton Porter as a narrative poem based upon the "Lentulus Legend". The legend states that an envoy of Tiberius Caesar, Publius Lentulus was sent by the Emperor to investigate the miracles of Jesus. After his report, Caesar sent a master artist to produce a likeness of Christ and, according to the legend, had this likeness carved upon the face of an EMERALD.
