ANOTHER STORY BY GENE STRATTON PORTER that is set in the usual northern Indiana country, near the Limberlost, and it offers the usual appeal of nature. Some reviews criticized the realism of Michael, a "newsie" small boy with a big, common sense, street philosophy of life, and an Irish wit. But, again it was Gene's way of incorporating nature into fiction and thus sharing her vast knowledge of the Limberlost. This copy was published by Grosset and Dunlap in 1916 and has a gray hard cover as well as a picturesque dust jacket. This dust jacket is well worn and is enclosed in a cellophane cover. The book itself is perfect as though just purchased. There is a Missouri Pacific Lines sticker in the front of the book stating that is the property of Mrs Gordon Rodman of Denver Colorado. At the back there are several pages of books by other current authors: Grace L. Hill, Faith Baldwin, Temple Bailey, Sinclair Lewis. This is definitely an old original Porter Book for the collector.
