HERE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE of Gene Stratton Porter incorporating Nature into Fiction. The background is the natural beauty of the mountains and desert around Los Angeles. As in many of her books the heroine is a very judicious person, and manages hardship with wisdom almost uncanny in a young person. One critic said that the setting was lovely, but that it carried no conviction. And other saw the wholesome charm. This particular copy is a "Memorial Edition" printed five years after the First Edition. There was a set of Memorial Editions printed including: HER FATHER'S DAUGHTER, THE WHITE FLAG, LADDIE, AND GIRL OF THE LIMBERLOST, as well as others. Condition is very good, except for a "crack" in the inside binding. (Shows in photo)
UNIQUE ADDITION TO GENE STRATTON PORTER COLLECTION!
