John Sadler & Sons of Burslem, Staffordshire, England have been in business since 1899 and were mainly known for their teapots although they produced other fine items. This is a a fine example of their work a 4 cup teapot with the pattern "The Old Mill". The colors are bright and vibrant and the teapot is in excellent condition. An early edition of this plate "The Squire" by Royal Doulton. This was called the Professionals series and was made between 1909 and 1975. You will see most with his coat being green. This was an earlier edition with the brown coat. The plate measures 10 1/2 inches across. It has some crazing but otherwise is in excellant condition.
