This bear cookie jar that can be turned around to show either a girl or boy bear is a mold from Ludowici Celadon Co. Produced in the 1940's. American Bisque Co. also used this mold. All the coloring on the jar was done in the cold paint process (not baked in). This jar is too perfect and not showing any paint loss. This is one of several cookie jars I have listed. It was made in Japan and I have seen this same jar with different colors and slightly different mold. Always the same in regards to the stethoscope. Parts of the design coloring was done in a cold paint process (not baked in finish) and some of it has worn off. Measures 13" tall x 8" across. Raided in the mold on the bottom it reads "JAPAN". Offering this 1960s or 70's Treasure Craft Clown cookie jar. It is an extremely solid, heavily glazed, well made jar from Treasure Craft USA. It stands approx 13" tall. I believe this is the older taller version as some are shorter. It is in excellent condition with bright colored glaze and free from any damage or repairs. For your consideration I am offering this rare McCoy cookie/biscuit jar. It was produced in the mid 1940's and has an unsigned unglazed bottom (listed in Sanford's Guide to McCoy Pottery). Very difficult to find with the original lid. The decorations on the jar were what is called a cold paint application meaning that it was not baked in.
