This is a Franciscan Oval Serving Platter in the DESERT ROSE pattern with USA backstamp. It has been slightly used but still in excellent condition free from any damage and still very shiny with bright colors. It measures slightly over 14". This is a set of rosebud shaped salt and pepper shakers in the Desert Rose pattern made in California USA by Franciscan China. If you collect teapots, Franciscan Cafe Royal is a very hard to find teapot with both pieces. I assume they did not make many of this pattern as very little information is known about when it was first produced. I can only guess it was about 1941 when apple and desert rose came on the market.
