offering these 3 hand carved figures. Each carved from a single piece of wood. The tallest is of an older women carrying a basket. The other 2 is a woman with a chicken and the other a man playing a guitar. They look German in style and do have some age. I would estimate them to date to pre 1970. The coloring is excellent. Great example of old folk art. Walnut head doll with solid wood body and bendable arms. This wonderfully creative hand-made doll is 6" tall. His head is a walnut with painted on eyes and mouth and glued on cotton beard. He has a fabric formed outfit and is carrying his sack of flour and walking stick. In his jeans back pocket is a red handkerchief. His pants are tied up with a rope suspenders. Probably originated from the Mountain areas of the eastern states. A great example of an early hand painted tole silent butler. Dark green background with beautifully painted floral design in the center. There is a gold random shaped outer edge. It measures 8 1/2 inches across by 10 inches with the handle and is in excellent condition as the painted flower area is free from any worn spots. There is some minor area of the inside that has started to rust through the paint but only minor.
