Great vintage bookends produced by the Connecticut Foundry. Located in Rocky Hill, CT, they produced a line of sand cast metal bookends that had a distinctive style characterized by very soft details and only in iron. Their line of bookends went out of production sometime between the Great Depression and the beginning of World War II. This is a very attractive Tole Tray from the 1950's. Cut out design with light blue background and gold trim and a hand painted area of roses and flowers. Gold trim is faded but the tray has very small amount of paint loss and has not lost any color due to discoloration. Measures 18.25" x 13.50" and is in excellent condition. Offering this large Tole Tray measuring 22.75" x 16.5". Showing an array of 9 roses and 6 buds growing on a vine on a background light green. Has some color fading and paint loss but not significant for a piece that should date between the 1940's and 50's. That is what I call patina that enhances the beauty of the age. Offering these very old brass candle holders circa late 1800,s. Not able to determine exactly when produced or by who. Evidently one had come apart from deterioration of the old connection method and had to be glued. There is a small rod that goes thru the whole holder that holds the pieces together as was the case for these very old holders. The other is all original.
