Correct me if I am wrong but I believe this piece of belleek originally held a candle. It was issued with a candle inside but obviously the candle has been used in this piece. It resembles a rag style purse and measures 2 3/4 inches high by 3 1/2 inches across. It has marked on the bottom the early green belleek of ireland mark. Condition is excellent. Offering this elegant Royal Dux Vase. The markings on the vase date this piece to the 1990's. It has a gold foil sticker that reads "ROYAL DUX BOHEMIA" and the letter "D" in the center. Also stamped in the mold in blue "ROYAL DUX made in Czechoslovakia"(See photo). There is also a number stamped in the mold that is very difficult to read. The best I can make of it is 5076. Gerold & Co. of Bavaria Germany produced this figurine of a cute little putti with a dog and small mouse. This company has been in existance since the mid 1930's. This is one of their early pieces as they made several different styles showing this same chubby boy with different poses and animals. Mark on the bottom identifies it as around the 1940's.
