In the 1930's the Arrow Novelty Co. located at 62 W. 14 St. New York City produced a line of novelty items that vacationers sent to their friends similar to a postcard but more elaborate. For lack of a better name I will call them a novelty souvenir/postcard. This one is a drawing of Jennie Wade on an oval piece of leather with "Gettysburg, Pa. and her name. Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed at the Battle of Gettysburg, accidentally shot while she was baking bread for the Union soldiers. She was 20 years old. Evidently it was never sent as the mailing card that is attached has never been written on. . It measures 2.25 x 4.5 inches. Condition good. I have 3 other different ones I am also listing. Free shipping to anywhere in the U.S.A. See all my many other great listings.
