Item #P1435

One of twelve 3 by 5 inch real photos, I am offering, taken right after the Sept. 1926 devastating hurricane that hit Florida. The 1926 Miami Hurricane (or Great Miami Hurricane or the Big Blow) was an intense hurricane that devastated Miami, Florida in September of 1926. The storm also caused significant damage in the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, and the Bahamas. The storm's enormous regional economic impact helped end the Florida land boom of the 1920s and pushed the region on an early start into the Great Depression. This photo is showing the destruction of a warehouse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Marked on the front of the photo although hard to read "Warehouse Ft. Lauderdale Fla.". Back of photo reads "W.J.Beach, Photographer, Prints Developed and Printed 492 S. Rosemary St. Labor Temple Bldg." The photo is in very good condition and will be shipped free to anywhere in the U.S.A. See all my other many great listings.
