FOLK ART WALNUT HEAD DOLL MAN W/ FLOUR SACK

Great example of old folk art. Walnut head doll with solid wood body and bendable arms. This wonderfully creative hand-made doll is 6" tall. His head is a walnut with painted on eyes and mouth and glued on cotton beard. He has a fabric formed outfit and is carrying his sack of flour and walking stick. In his jeans back pocket is a red handkerchief. His pants are tied up with a rope suspenders. Probably originated from the Mountain areas of the eastern states. Circa about the 1940's or 50's.
