ELEGANT HAND PAINTED ON BRASS VIRGIN MARY/MADONNA

Offering this beautiful hand painted on brass figure of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The detail is fantastic. The oval section with the painting measures 3.5" x 3" and with the frame 5" x 5". The gold section at the frame top may have had something in it but I cannot be sure of this. The detail is so fine that my camera or scan cannot show the real beauty of this piece. I have tried to show what is the design on all the background. It would only show up in my enlargement 3. I have had paintings on Ivory as well as Celluloid and they cannot compare to the quality of this piece. Even the carved framing is a work of art.
