CROWN TRIFARI MILK GLASS & GOLD 5 STRAND NECKLACE

This is Trifari at its best. It is one of the most beautiful necklaces I have ever seen and is signed Crown Trifari without the copyright which dates it prior to 1955. There are 5 strands of white glass (not plastic) beads 4 sided with the center larger than the ends. They remind me of a Japanese cocoon paper lantern. Each measures 12mm. And each glass bead is separated by a like shaped gold plated smaller bead. Then we come to the clasp. It alone is amazing as it connects all five strands and is in the shape of a gold tone metal butterfly. The metal is all brushed gold and the flip over snap clasp is the body of the butterfly. The shortest length of the necklace with the clasp is approx. 20" and each strand after that is slightly longer up to approx. 25". The necklace is in pristine vintage condition.
