Rare 1940's Mccoy Slant Ball Cookie/biscuit Jar W/lid
|| for item CJ2837
For your consideration I am offering this rare McCoy cookie/biscuit jar. It was produced in the mid 1940's and has an unsigned unglazed bottom (listed in Sanford's Guide to McCoy Pottery). Very difficult to find with the original lid. The decorations on the jar were what is called a cold paint application meaning that it was not baked in. Even with this procedure most of the floral decoration survived. It is free from any damage or repairs but does have some minor mold imperfections common for this issue. It measures 9" across including handle & lip and 8.5" tall at the tip of the handle. If you are a collector of cookie jars or McCoy you would definitely want this one in your collection. Shipping weight approx. 8 pounds. You are looking at a vintage slant ball cookie jar made by McCoy in 1945. It is about 8-1/2" high to the top of the handle. There is no lid to this jar. There are a few imperfections due to manufacturing and age. The front tip of the spout has a touched up chip. Some of the cold paint is missing none of these defects take away from the display quality of this piece at all. What a great vintage piece for display.
