GRAND TURK PASSAGE TO CHINA BY R. MASSEY
This is a collector plate painting titled "Grand Turk" "Passage to China, American Ships of the China Trade" by marine artist Raymond Massey. On December 5, 1785 the Grand Turk, an ex-privateer sailed from Salem, Massachusetts bound for trade a the French island of Mauritus. She was charted to sail on to china making the Grand Turk the second American ship to arrive in China flying the stars and stripes. This third issue painting features the Grand Turk passing Macau on her way to the Pearl River and the port of Whampoa. The plate is 11"across and is in mint condition with the history on the back of the plate. Email if you have any questions.
