The Stangl Shoveler Duck, #3455, was produced only from 1940 to 1947, making it a rare and highly sought after bird. The birds are hand-painted using natural colors and special glazes, often based upon illustrations by John James Audubon. This duck is approximately 12-1/4" x 14", marked beneath with the Stangl logo, #3455 and the artist's initials "ES". It is priced well below the current market price minimum of $1150.00 due to a small chip on the back of the tail tip. Please study the photos carefully for details. It still displays beautifully since the chip is hard to see without detailed examination. Stangl birds were prized for their accuracy, beauty and realistic portrayal. More photos are available upon email request. If you are interested, please contact us for a shipping quote to your area. Thank you for looking at this beautiful duck!
