Painted on an 8" plate, this piece is signed Sommer, The first name is there, but we are unable to determine what it is, and the plate is not dated. All of the pieces currently in our catalog came from the same collection so we are fairly confident that they were all painted around the same 1950s - 1960s time frame...

This little reticulated heart is a wonderful reminder of New Orleans past. Made by Victoria Ceramics in Japan, it measures 5" in diameter. Some of the scenes depicted on the plate are the Mississippi River Bridge, the St. Louis Basilica, the French Quarter, and more. Every place shown on this plate experienced extensive damage during the hurricanes of recent years. It's in excellent shape with no chips, cracks or crazing. It has the original cord for hanging, and the original foil label.
