This beautiful hard to find Goldcastle cat teapot was made in Japan sometime in the 1930s-40s and is in very good condition. The gold on the bow and around her neck does show some wear.

Beautiful hand-painted china base for table lighter. Each side has a flying mallard on a white field with a yellow base and sky blue band around the top. Each duck is slightly different as normal with the process. The base stands approximately 2-1/8" X 2-1/2" X 1-1/2". The bottom is stamped "ATC Super De Luxe Automatic" and "Hand Painted Japan." THERE IS NO LIGHTER MECHANISM INCLUDED - BASE ONLY!

Lovely Johnson Brothers gravy pitcher with dainty blue flowers. The mark indicates the piece to be from the early 20th century, and we believe the pattern to be JB705, although we cannot be sure. If you recognize the pattern with relative certainty, please let us hear from you. The mark on the bottom is a bit faded as shown in the picture. In excellent condition, this gravy has not chips, cracks or crazing.

Here is another example of American china painting, sometimes referred to as porcelain painting or overglaze painting. Painted on an 8" plate, this piece is signed Sommer, The first name is there, but we are unable to determine what it is, and the plate is not dated. All of the pieces currently in our catalog came from the same collection so we are fairly confident that they were all painted around the same 1950s - 1960s time frame...

As our offering of American china painting continues, here is another hand-painted 7 3/4" plate, this piece is again signed - Marie Morris, 1960.
The plate depicts miniature pink roses on a gold bordered pale blue band. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Whether you call it china painting, porcelain painting, or overglaze painting, this is a wonderful example.

The picture is of a pair of dainty yellow roses on a delightful plate which has a very pale blue band around the border. This plate, too, is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.

This is a 6" lemon server with a gold handle and gold rim signed - Marie Morris and dated 1956. This piece has no manufacturer's mark, but is yet another fine example of American china painting.
The tray is painted with rasberries complete with blossoms. There is a blend of yellow to lavender for the background. It's quite lovely. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.

The nappy is decorated with blue forget-me-nots on a pale blue band. Ms. Morris used a light yellow wash in the bottom of the nappy to create a soft contrast. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing...
