Franciscanware Salad Plate

8" Franciscan salad plate by Gladding-McBean. This particular style plate could easily be "Metropolitan" or "Tiempo" as both had the rounded corners, both had salad plates that measured approximately 8", and both came in yellow. The actual shade of yellow seems to be the determining factor, but without both to compare, we are unable to determine just to which pattern this plate belong. In fact, while doubtful, under fluorescent light this could even conceivably be FranciscanWare's lime green. We do know, from the back stamp, that the plate was made in the early 50s.
