Beautfully hand painted plate dated 1907. While the artist remains anonymous, the plate used has the familiar JP over L - France - mark, indicating it is from the Jean Pouyat porcelain factory in the Limoges region of France. At the turn of the last century, the Pouyat family name rivaled that of the Havilands for quality in the industry. A great deal of information is available on the Pouyats if you are interested in learning more. This plate will show very well in any collection. It measures 7.5" in diameter, and while the thin line of gold along the very edge shows some wear, there are no cracks or crazing on the plate itself, another mark of the Pouyat quality expect even today.
