This lovely original Victorian portrait of a child in chalk, charcoal or pastel on thick paper dates in mid 1800's. It is from a Chicago, Illinois estate. The solid wood frame with ornamental floral designs is probably the original frame. It has some chipping at the edge, but in overall good condition. The rough sawn backing is also original. A Currier & Ives original hand-colored print, created between 1877 and 1894. It is titled "Infant Savior" also "L'Enfant Saveur" and "El Infante Jesus". The print has "New York, Published by Currier & Ives, 115 Nassau St., under the title. The edges of the print shows some light discoloring from moisture but it is not inside the printed area. The frame is original and has a nice inlay.

An excellent sculpture of a buffalo in African ironwood. This hand carved buffalo is approx. 12" long from the tail to the nose and is approx. 7" tall.
The detail is just hard to believe, and it is carved from a single piece of wood.
It is signed on the underside "OBERT P" by the artist.
