$225

Nice upturned midrib or Hanoverian teaspoon which I thought was by Daniel Henchman of Boston but after a bit of research think might be by David Hall of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The key point seems to be the letter spacing. In any event, it is 4 9/16 inches long with a shallow rib, a bit of tipwear and a shell with some wear. It has a block monogram H • T. $250

In extraordinary, virtually mint condition, this coin silver tablespoon was made by David Tyler of Boston around 1790. It has a rounded-end downturned handle and a raised arch drop. The monogram appears to be BLC. It measures 8 7/8 inches in length and weighs 1.8 troy ounces. The mark is "b" on page 415 in "Marks of American Silversmiths in the Ineson-Bissell Collection" by Louise Conway Belden. Silver by Tyler is relatively scarce.

Vintage French absinthe spoon, Les Feuilles #1, circa 1900. These spoons were placed over a glass with a sugar cube on top, and the water was poured over the cube to reduce the bitterness of the absinthe. This is guaranteed to be a period absinthe spoon from a French bar; it is not one of the many reproductions which are being sold on the Internet. It is in very good condition, showing some stains and oxidation from use. I personally like the absinthe spoons that show some wear because it helps ...click for details
