Spectacular art nouveau silver French desk barometer by the prominent Paris firm of Risler & Carré which was located at 16, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré from the 1890's until early in the 20th century. This piece is hallmarked 1st standard which means that the silver is 95% pure versus the English and American standard of 92.5% for sterling. It dates from around 1900. Silver butter shells are an elegant way to serve butter to your guests. Of course these dishes could be used for candies or nuts or whatever you would like to serve with a flair. They were made by Francis Higgins, have ball feet, measure 4 3/4 inches by 4 inches, and weigh a tad more than 3 3/4 troy ounces. Condition is excellent.

Fine set of three Georgian wine labels or tickets -- for madeira, port and claret -- by the renowned maker John Reily. They are cast and have a griffin crest. George III silver brandy label of rectangular shape with cut corners made by the well-regarded firm of Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson of London in 1806. It is engraved with their distinctive blocked lettering. The chain is original and the condition is excellent. Width is 1 5/8 inches.
