We actually know the bar where this was used -- it was the Café de Paris in Saintes, a small city in the Charente-Maritime départment of France, which is about 75 miles north of Bordeaux. Absinthe era saucer from a French bar with a burgundy rim. This is an actual saucer from the late 19th or very early 20th century that was used in a bar in the Charente Martime departement in the Southwest of the country. It measures 4 7/8 inches in diameter. There is some wear to the rim decoration from long years of use. The back is glazed. There are a couple of small chips on the inside of the foot but they are really not noticeable when it is on a table or other flat surface...

This is flyer or program from the original production of Marco Millions by The Theatre Guild Acting Company for the week beginning November 19, 1928. The play was by Eugene O'Neill, possibly America's greatest playwright and winner of the Nobel Prize for literature. This piece is in very good condition with one fold. It measures 9 by 3½ inches. Handsome and very graphic placard advertising Jules Bertier & Cie champagne. This is on heavy cardboard stock, retaining the original pink ribbon used to hang it in a bar of wine store. It is in excellent condition with just a couple of small, light stains on the bottom border which can be seen in the photograph. The design is by Max Sidaine which operated in Bordeaux from 1880 to 1923. It is in the great tradition of French Art Nouveau graphics...
