These cards were given out by banks and other institutions to help French people understand the value of the new euro currency compared to the franc which had been in use for many years. They are interesting and informative records of the transition period, which actually lasted for several years. The euro currency was introduced on 1 January 2002 and both currencies were legal to use until 17 February 2002 after which only the euro could be used...

These two cards depict Tuckerman Ravine from Bootts Spur, Mt. Washington, and Hermit Lake in Tuckerman Ravine. The first is numbered 553 on the front while the second is numbered 507. Both were produced by The Shorey Studio of Gorham, New Hampshire. Both appear to be in very good, unused condition (there are minor smudge on back on first card, visible in scan). rare first edition of Dynamo by Eugene O'Neill, the only American playwright to win a Nobel Prize. This is a very good copy of the 1929 first edition of the play. This copy was purchased in 1957 from a well-known antiquarian bookseller on Madison Avenue in New York City whose firm had purchased 10 copies when the book was published and still had one some original stock remaining. There is some sun fading on the spine, a split of the front hinge and an incipient split of the back hinge...

This very amusing French transfer plate making fun of tennis and tennis players. A great item for the tennis enthusiast. Vintage tennis collectibles are hard to find. It was manufactured by St. Amand, probably in the mid 1920's. There is some very light staining around the inside of the rim, but it does not detract from the attractiveness of the piece. Diameter is 7 3/4 inches. The photograph of the plate has some reflections which make it harder to see the details -- sorry.
