From the 1847 book "Historical Collections of the State of New Jersey," where it appears on page 267, this hand-colored historical print depicts the "College of New Jersey, Princeton." The school was renamed Princeton University in 1896. The artist is John Warner Barber. The image area of this print is 3½ by 6¼ inches. It is handsomely framed within an eglomisé border of black with a gold band in a gold and silver gilt frame which measures approximately 9½ by 11½ inches...

Rare lithographic print by Stow Wengenroth in his iconic style of lobster buoys hanging against a weathered shack in Port Clyde, Maine. Executed in November 1964, the print itself is 9 3/4 inches by 15 13/16 inches. It is from an edition of 40 and is signed in pencil at the lower right. It is number 293 in the catalog raisonné of Wengenroth's lithographs by Ronald and Joan Stuckey. This is a very difficult print to find...

Set of six teaspoons, dating from 1800-1810, by William Simes (1773-1824) of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They are coffin ended with beautifully executed script monograms and interesting double roulette drops on the back. Each is marked with Simes' punch (mark "a" on page 382 of Marks of American Silversmiths in the Ineson-Bissell Collection by Louise Conway Belden). Length is 5 11/16 inches. Condition is very good: I would almost be tempted to say the spoons were never used...

This is a first edition of Philip Roth's famous Portnoy's Complaint, the author's fourth book, a comic novel, published in 1969. It was made into a movie of the same name in 1972, starring Richard Benjamin and Karen Black. Book in fine condition. Dustwrapper is unfaded with clipped corner but first issue price of $6.95 present (this is right for the first issue of this book). Also 2/69 date on rear flap. Very slightest bit of wear evident at top front of dw. An excellent copy of this rare state.
